Singapore Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing
At least one person died and multiple others were injured after a Singapore Airlines plane encountered severe turbulence on a flight from London to Singapore, the airline said on Tuesday. The flight made an emergency landing in Bangkok due to bad weather conditions with 30 passengers aboard. It was the first fatal accident involving a Boeing 747-400 and the only Singapore Airlines accident to result in fatalities.
The plane, which had been carrying 30 passengers and crew, encountered severe turbulence about two hours into the flight. The plane made an emergency landing in Bangkok, where one passenger was pronounced dead.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The airline said it is cooperating with authorities to determine what caused the crash.
