Early Life and Career
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on 5 February 1985 in Funchal, Portugal. He began his football career at a young age, joining the youth academy of Sporting Lisbon at the age of 12. In 2003, he signed for Manchester United, where he quickly established himself as one of the world's best players. Ronaldo won the Ballon d'Or, the award given to the world's best player, five times during his time at United.
International Career
Ronaldo is also Portugal's all-time leading goalscorer with 118 goals. He has represented his country at five World Cups and five European Championships, winning the latter in 2016. Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
